To celebrate 90 years of Artek in 2025, Artek has joined forces with Finnish design house Marimekko for a limited collection of one-of-a-kind Aalto furniture. Merging Marimekko's art of printmaking and Artek's wood bending technology, select Marimekko design classics are presented using marquetry on the iconic Aalto Stool 60 seat top. Here, designer Maija Isola's fan-favorite Kivet (Stone) pattern from 1956 decorates the birch seat, featuring rough-edged stones that were likely inspired by the rocks that surrounded Isola's studio home. Contrasting wood grains create a shimmering effect, as light, pattern and wood interact to bring the pattern to life.
